Mon Castro, named one of the top 10 pioneering leaders revolutionizing the entertainment field by LA Weekly, is an award-winning asexual Mexican filmmaker based in Los Angeles. She graduated from Centro de Diseño, Cine y Televisión with a degree in Film and Television, and later earned her MFA in Producing at the American Film Institute Conservatory.

She has produced numerous narrative films and music videos, including Yugo BAFTA Longlisted and Imagen Foundation Award Nominee BAJO LA TIERRA; Owen Roizman ASC Winner IM FINSTERN; Top Shorts Best Indie Filmmaker and Hollywood Verge Film Awards Best Comedy Winner THE PHYSICIST IN OUTER SPACE; and Spotlight Dorado Finalist CUANDO VOLVIMOS A LA TIERRA, which took her to SXSW. 

Mon was also featured in the 30 under 30 list of Filmmakers Connect, and is a member of the National Association of Latino Independent Producers. Mon holds a special affinity for all things horror, genre and camp. She is also interested in feminism, LGBTQIA+ stories, animals, and changing her hair color.
